Foodberry
Website design and development for a Boston food tech company turning bite-sized innovation into big brand partnerships
Overview
"Foodberry had built something genuinely new: a proprietary plant-based food technology platform that could transform any food or beverage into a portable, no-mess, bite-sized experience. The partnerships were real — Bel Group, Van Leeuwen, Gopuff, Cape Cod Select — and the manufacturing capability was certified and scaled. What wasn’t keeping up was the website. For a B2B innovation company pitching category-redefining products to major food and beverage brands, their digital presence wasn’t doing justice to either the science or the story."
We asked the team to ensure the website reflected our most recent investor pitch deck so that, if investors looked at our site, it matched what they saw in the pitch deck. Temper And Forge included what our company does, focusing on making the site visually appealing and straightforward while still looking professional.

Challenge
Foodberry’s space is easy to misread. Focusing too much on sensory appeal — like fruit-wrapped ice cream bonbons — risks underselling the advanced technology and large production facility behind them. Conversely, emphasizing manufacturing specs can lose the warmth that makes Foodberry appealing. The existing site failed to balance these aspects, leaving partners unclear on Foodberry’s unique offerings.

Solution
We built the site around a simple structural principle borrowed from Foodberry’s own tagline: inspire first, then prove it. The homepage opens with the product experience — vivid, appetite-forward imagery — then pivots to the commercial case: strategic partnerships with recognized brands, GFSI/SQF Level 2 certified manufacturing in Boston, and a scalable tech transfer model for brands that want to bring the platform in-house.
Navigation was restructured to serve Foodberry’s actual audience. Product Development, Co-Manufacturing, and Tech Transfer each got their own clear pathways, so brand partners arriving at the site with a specific need could find it without sifting through content that wasn’t written for them. The design system balanced the warm, food-forward energy of the brand with the precision and credibility that major CPG companies expect from an innovation partner.
